My journey in the industry didn’t start with weddings but in a college journalism class with a news quiz. At University of Maryland, College Park, I quickly realized my passion was something other than politics. Instead, I landed internships at Bayside Bride, founded by the talented Natalie Franke and Krista Jones, The Knot, and WeddingWire. After graduation, I accepted a full-time gig as their lead real weddings editor perusing hundreds, if not thousands, of photos from photographers each and every week, receiving and reading bride and groom questionnaires, and writing inspirational articles on various topics. For example, my favorites were first-hand accounts from my own experience--before and after!
I'm traditional with a twist, so I adore seeing my clients include sweet and sentimental details into their overall big day such as: wearing your mother’s veil, asking your grandmother to be your flower girl, having your sister sing your father-daughter dance (#truestory), giving a thank you toast in lieu of a receiving line, or making a charitable donation in lieu of favors.
On those "off" weekends, you can find me making minor renovations to our '80s-style rancher, hiking through Patapsco State Park, shopping at Costco, or traveling to the Eastern Shore or Bethany Beach to visit family and friends!
